Cecelia Anne Inge Burleyson went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at the age of 75, after a long, courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Cecelia was born in Spencer, NC to Cecil and Martha Inge. Many stories were shared of how Cecelia was a quiet child always trying to do her best, while keeping up with her 2 older brothers, Randall, and Jerry Inge. She graduated from North Rowan High School and then attended school to become a hairstylist. She married the late Tommy Burleyson in 1967 where they lived together in Salisbury for 24 years.
Cecelia was a preschool teacher for North Hills Christian School for several years. She took time away from teaching little ones to take care of her husband and then returned back to work upon his departure into Heaven. Upon returning back to work, she began working with preschool children again. Later, she worked as office personnel for a credit counseling business and a bank. She returned back to North Hills Christian School providing afterschool care for children until she retired. Cecelia was a very loving and caring wife and mother. Ceceila loved her Lord greatly and this love was shown in how she shared a servant’s heart, either to those she had just met, and to those who were friends, coworkers, and family.
Cecelia is the mother of 2 daughters, Michelle Isaacs and husband, John and Teresa Buchanan and her husband Ernest, (Junior). She is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Dylan Isaacs and his wife Chynna and Joshua Buchanan. Cecelia’s mother and father, Martha and Cecil Inge, and her brothers, Randall and Jerry Inge have entered Gods kingdom and we are sure they are having a grand reunion as Cecelia entered into Heavens gates.
The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at 3pm at the Franklin Baptist Church, Salisbury, NC. Memorial donations may be made to alz.org or donate.brightfocus.org.
Carolina Cremation of Salisbury and Charlotte is assisting the Burleyson family. Online condolences may be made at www.carolinacremation.com.
