Allen Emerson Britt, 76, of China Grove, passed away Tuesday February 28, 2023, at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born July 19, 1946 in Manchester, New Hampshire to the late Daniel Wilford Britt and Harriett Spooner Britt.  Allen retired after working for many years as a shop foreman for Gamewell Mechanical.  In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, country music, playing his guitar and singing, and spending time with friends and family, and his dog Dolly.  He was a strong family man and  known for his dry sense of humor.  His legacy will live on for generations to come.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his wife, Lynelle Britt.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughters, Tammy Britt Starnes, Christine McCollum; sons, Jeff Merry, Daniel Britt, Thomas Britt; sisters, Martha Farrah (Brad), April Ragan (Steve), Sheila Blackwelder (David); brother, Calvin Clark (Leonne).  He was a proud Papaw to his grandchildren, Breeanne Britt, Ashlyn Farrow, Tyler Starnes, Patrick Britt, Joshua Britt, and Lucas Britt; and his greatgrandchildren, Jada Farrow, Reid Starnes, and Cohan Britt.  He enjoyed company and date nights with his very close companion of many years, Vickie Schramm.  He remained in contact with his lifelong best friend, Bill Moore (Joyce) and cherished their friendship.

There will be a celebration of Life held at West Corinth Baptist Church (120 Corinth Church Road, Mooresville, NC) on Saturday March 4^th from 12pm-2pm.
