Leonard David Overcash, 65, of Kannapolis, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Concord Nursing & Rehab in Concord, NC.

He was born March 9, 1958 in Orlando, FL to the late Charles Robert and Peggy Beaver Overcash. Leonard was a musician. He played many different instruments and enjoyed singing.

Leonard attended Prince of Peace Freewill Baptist Church in Kannapolis where he played music and sang.

Leonard is survived by his wife Bonnie Gail McCollum Overcash; son, Brian Overcash and wife Renee of Cleveland; step-daughters, Amanda Fortner of Lexington and Faith Phillips and husband Michael of NV; brothers, Chuck Overcash and wife Mary of Kannapolis and Keith Overcash of Kannapolis; ; sister, Elaine Goodman of Kannapolis; granddaughters, Abigail Sanders and Erin Purvis; grandsons, Larry Sanders and Michael Purvis; and six nieces and nephews.

The family will greet friends and relatives on Saturday, July 22, 2023, 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm at Prince of Peace Freewill Baptist Church 4225 Vincent St., Kannapolis, NC 28081.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Prince of Peace Freewill Baptist Church.
