James Adrian Smith “Jimmy” went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on August 2, 2023 at his home in Troutman, NC.
Jimmy was born in Hampton, VA on February 17, 1950. He was the youngest child of Rita and Bernard Smith of Hampton, VA, both of which have proceeded him in death.

Jimmy was a 1970 graduate of Kecoughtan High School. He then went to apprentice school to learn the skills needed to become a brick mason. He then worked for his father at Peninsula Masonry before becoming a welder at the Newport News Shipyard.
Later, Jimmy became the President and Co-Owner of Buckroe Amoco and Richland Amoco. Before retiring, Jimmy went to work for the Atlantic Group as an asbestos certified insulator at various power plants across the southeast United States.
Jimmy is proceeded in death by his mother, Rita Smith, his father Bernard C Smith, his sister Margie Cummings and his brother Bernard F Smith “Butch”.
Left to cherish is memory is his wife of 53 years Nancy “Delores” Smith, his sisters, Jeannette Fisher(Billy), Helen Cooter, his daughters, Shannon Chambers (Marcus), Carrie Smith, and Winter Smith (Ray), his son Joseph Sitnic, his grandchildren, Destiny Ferguson, Tyler Smith(Kayla), Myka Hyde, Cheyanne Hyde, MJ Chambers, Noah James Sitnic, Zabria Henderson, Brian Henderson Jr, and a host of nieces, nephews and family members.
A Celebration of life Service will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023 at the Fox Hill Neighborhood Center, 65 Hall Rd, Hampton, VA at 1:30pm.

Aunt Dee and Family so very sorry for the loss of uncle jimmy it’s so hard to believe he’s gone,I know God needed another angel Uncle Jimmy sure loved you all. We sure had some good times with him. Sure with I could of gotten to see him more. I am glad I get to remember the good times and him laughing and joking. love you all
