In Loving Memory of Steven A. Schoch
Steven A. Schoch, age 71, passed away on October 9, 2023, at his home in Salisbury, NC, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and doting grandfather who touched the lives of everyone he met.
He was born July 24, 1952 in Breckenridge, KY to the late William J. and JoAnn Schoch. He received his undergraduate and MBA degrees from Southeast Missouri State University where he was a member of Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity. He retired as a Controller from Norandal in Salisbury, NC after 27 years of service.
Steve loved life, loved to be with people and serving others. He was a dedicated lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and an avid Star Trek fan. He had a passion for traveling all over the world (especially anywhere with good German beer), coaching his children’s softball and baseball teams, playing racquetball and church league softball. He enjoyed researching and compiling family genealogy. He also had an extensive beer can collection and loved Nissan Z sports cars.
As a member of First United Methodist Church in Salisbury, he served on the Finance committee in many capacities. He was very active in the Adam & Eve Sunday School Class and participated in various mission projects. He also served on the Board of Directors for Rowan Homes and was a volunteer tax preparer at Rufty Holmes Senior Center.
Steve is survived by his wife, Nancy; his daughter Andrea Schoch-Miller (Casey Miller); son Jeffrey Schoch (Kim); three grandchildren, Jack Schoch, Kennedy Miller, Benjamin Schoch; sisters, Linda Schoch, Karen Strombach; mother-in-law, Eva Wilcoxen, brother-in-law, Wayne Wilcoxen and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law George Wilcoxen.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at the First United Methodist Church Salisbury (217 S Church Street, Salisbury, NC) at 11am with a reception and visitation immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests gifts of love be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the First United Methodist Church Salisbury.
