Bobby Glenn Locklear, 77, of Salisbury, was born on August 8, 1946 to the late Delia Jones Locklear and
Robert Locklear in Robeson County and departed this life on Sunday, October 22, 2023 after a brief
illness, surrounded by family.
Bobby retired from Boral Brick in Salisbury, NC after almost 40 years of employment. After retirement,
Bobby spent a lot of his spare time planting his garden in the spring, working on lawnmowers (his hobby) and doing things for his children and grandchildren. Bobby never met a stranger and would do anything for anyone, no matter if they were family or not. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him. He was the best man there was and extremely loved by his family!!
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Alexander Locklear; special aunt
Rosie Mae Chavis; sisters, Joann “Nucy” Locklear and Rosanna “Tinker” Jones; brothers Vardell Jones and Don Locklear and nephew Chris Jones (who passed October 20, 2023).
Bobby leaves to cherish memories to his wife, Marie T Locklear; son: Bobby “BJ” Locklear; daughters:
Angie Stein (Carl), Anita Locklear (Alex), Alanna Locklear, Linda Locklear and Tonya Plummer (Kevin);
grandchildren: Jason, Maria, Emilio, Shayla, Jaden, Ariana, Aidan, Nahriya, Hailey, Cheyenne and Alyssa; great grandchildren: Kadence, Pierre, Kali and Esmae; brother, James “Peter” Jones; along with a host of other relatives and friends who loved him.
Per his wishes (which the family is honoring), he will be cremated and no services will be held.
“Fly high dad/grandpaw and watch over us until we see you again”. WE LOVE YOU!!!
