Janice Elaine Farrington Owings Samuelson, 76, of Salisbury, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023.

She was born November 16, 1947 in Concord, NC to the late Woodrow “Woody” Farrington and Carrie Harker Farrington. She graduated from W.R. Odell High School in 1966. Janice worked in retail sales management most of her life and genealogy formatting part time. She volunteered with Faithful Friends and served as treasurer of the organization. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, especially to the beach, and was an avid history buff. Janice also enjoyed exploring and sightseeing, word search puzzles, and reading while sunbathing by the pool.

In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by cousins, Joyce Morton Boggs and Pat Morton Cook.

Janice is survived by her husband, Dana Samuelson of Salisbury; son, Jeffery Owings (Katie) of Kannapolis; father of her son, Richard Owings (Helen) of Concord; cousin, Frances Stanley of Greensboro; 6 aunts; 3 uncles; and extended family. She is also survived by her beloved pets, Marley and Shar.

There will be a private graveside service held at 2pm on December 16, 2023 at Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Salisbury, NC.
