Charles Haynes Blackburn, 78, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2024 surrounded by his
loved ones. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida, to Pasco Haynes Blackburn and Nonnie
Blackburn.
Charlie retired in 2001 as a Regional Sales Manager for General Electric Company. He was a
proud alumnus and avid fan of the University of Georgia and received his Master’s degree from
Oklahoma State University.
Charlie’s passion was spending his Saturdays in the fall watching his Georgia Bulldogs play. As
he always said, “How ‘bout them Dawgs!” He enjoyed time with his close-knit family, lake life,
playing golf, and traveling. Charlie spent his time volunteering for various ministries at his
church. He always had his beloved dog, Kirby, by his side. One of his greatest accomplishments
was his involvement with the Helping Hands Golf Tournament that continues to raise money
annually.
Charlie is survived by his wife and best friend of 58 years, Alice Blackburn and his two children,
Laurie Earnheart (husband Stephen) and Robin Randall (husband Travis). In addition, he is
survived by his grandchildren Caroline and Luke Earnheart, Allie and Brooke Randall, his
brother Dale Blackburn (wife Debbie) and his sister Donna Lancaster (husband Mike).
A drop-in visitation will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, from 12:00-2:00 pm at Denver
United Methodist Church in Denver, North Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Denver United Methodist Church are greatly appreciated.
Carolina Cremation is honored to serve the Blackburn family. Online condolences may be made at www.carolinacremation.com.

Just by chance I googled his name and was shocked to learn of his passing. He and I work together for many years at General Electric. Charlie was a great, no the best manager I ever reported to.
