Hubert Ray Adams, 83 of China Grove, NC passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at his home after a short period of declining health.
Mr. Adams was born on April 17, 1941 in Atwell Township, NC, to the late Clyde and Kathryn Upright Adams. Mr. Adams retired as a Master Sergeant from the United States Army.
He was a lifelong member of Concordia Lutheran Church, a member of Eureka Masonic Lodge # 283, and a member of Welcome Home Vets Foundation of Mooresville. Mr. Adams loved playing guitar and singing at his church, Richard’s Coffee Shop, and many other community venues.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Adams is preceded in death by brother, Frank Adams and sisters, Evelyn Smith and Carolyn Morrow.
Mr. Adams is survived by his children, Janet Block, Jim Adams and wife Lisa, Michael Adams, Clark Adams and wife Jenna, and Whitney Adams; siblings, Janette McDonald, Joanne Haynes, Donald Adams, Clyde Adams, Jr., Larry Adams, Paul Adams, and Billy Adams; eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service held on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 4:00 pm at Concordia Lutheran Church 185 Concordia Church Road, China Grove, NC 28083.
The family will greet friends and relatives on Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm in the Family Life Center at Concordia Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Concordia Lutheran Church 185 Concordia Church Road, China Grove, NC 28023 or to Welcome Home Veterans 165 N. Main Street, Mooresville, NC 28115 or to Unity United Methodist Church Mobile Meals on Wheels Program 8605 Unity Church Road, Kannapolis, NC 28081.

Ray was a great soul. He was very supportive when i lost my children and for many years we would walk down main st after thursdays at Richard’s and just talk, and walk. He will be sorely missed and heaven truly has another special angel.
