Mary Elizabeth Davis Masline, 81, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at home in Charlotte, NC Her Husband, Richard Masline, of 57 years, welcomed her with opened arms into their Heavenly Home where they will spend eternity together.
A celebration of her life is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at St. Marks Episcopal Church, 8600 Mount Hollysville Rd, Huntersville, NC with Priest Father Garry Edwards officiating. The Family will receive friends at The Rafters Fellowship Hall following the service at St. Marks Episcopal Church.
She was born on November 17, 1942 and she was the daughter of the late Hal Avon Davis and Martha Jones Bass Davis. MaryBeth, also known as, “Butch” graduated from High Point Central High School and she attended Saint Andrews Presbyterian College in Laurinburg, NC while studying Business Administration.
MaryBeth loved life and never met a stranger. She was active in her church at St. Marks Episcopal Church where she served on multiple committees, she was a member of the choir and considered St. Marks congregation her family. She loved all people unconditionally and had a soft heart for everyone that she met. She was a faithful participant of the Cursillo Movement and the Kairos Prison Ministry. Marybeth was an avid Carolina Tar Heel Basketball Fan. She enjoyed cross stitching and baking her amazing Southern Pound Cakes along with her secret recipe for Seasoned Oyster Crackers that she shared with Family, Friends and Neighbors during the Holidays. MaryBeth loved to go, go and go! She loved to shop, make trips to the grocery every Thursday, she loved to travel and she had a love for the Beaches of NC She will be remembered for her strong faith in God, her adventurous spirit, her laughter and her kindness. MaryBeth was courageous and had the ability to “Accept the things that she could not change!” She was born with a three chamber heart and she was only expected to live two weeks after her birth. At the age of 16, she underwent open heart surgery at UNC in Chapel Hill. NC. Marybeth was a miracle, she touched the lives of so many and she made a positive difference for anyone who crossed her path.
MaryBeth is survived by her Daughter, Kathryn Ann McCoy of Norman, Oklahoma, three Grandchildren, Oshel Reid McCoy and his daughter Maci Lynn of Dubai, Richard Andrew McCoy and his daughter Harper Jeanne of Norman, Oklahoma, Lee Elizabeth Moore, and her two daughters, Ellie May and Geneva Pearl of Norman, Oklahoma. She also leaves her Dear Sister, Martha Ann Springer of Charlotte, NC. Her nephews and nieces that were near and dear to her heart, Hal Davis Jr. (Louise) of Charlotte, NC, and their children, Rose and Emma, Tom Davis, (Jayne) of Raleigh, NC, Dr. Deborah Davis, of Morganton, NC and her children, William, Jay, and Thomas, Karen Coltrane of Morganton, NC and her daughters, Kathleen and Evelyn, sisters in law, Marion Davis of Asheboro. NC her sister in law, Pam McGuirt of Ocean Isle, NC, her children, Jae, Scott and Jennifer, her Brother in law, Don Masline, (Majorie) of Ocean Isle, NC. her special friends and caregivers, Scott and Debra James of Charlotte, NC, Her very special emotional support dogs, Duchess Elizabeth Masline and Grace James of NC Marybeth is preceded in death by her Brother, Hal Davis Jr. brothers in law, John McGuirt and Jeff Masline.

Mary Beth was a special friend from Kairos. We have had the time of our lives serving the PRISON MMUNITY. I can see Richard meeting her as she entered Heaven and can hear God saying

I love you mama and miss you so much it hurts! I don’t know what to do without you! I keep listening to the voice-mails you left just to hear your voice. I miss talking to you everyday! I know you’re with daddy now and I know both of you dont hurt anymore but my heart is broken forever! Im glad you’re my angels though! Love always Kathy
