Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute.
Billy Ray Fisher, Sr., of Kannapolis, went home to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 21st, 2024. He passed peacefully, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 88 years of age. Bill was born to the late Clarence and Dora Fisher on October 17th, 1935.
Bill served in the Army (1954-1956), as a paratrooper with the 82nd airborne. He retired after a 30 year career, form Hoechst Celanese of Salisbury. Bill loved to be outside, doing whatever he could “get his paws into”. He also loved his garden, tractors, fried fish, wood working, mowing
his grass, killing squires, and all things outdoors and manly. Anything broken (or not), he had to fix it. Bill was a man’s man, made of boot leather and iron, strong willed, and stern. Yet, Bill had the greatest sense of humor, loved to joke around, and pick on anyone and everyone he came across.
In December of 1954, Bill married the love of his life, Ada. They would share a life together for more than 70 years. A 70 year marriage speaks volumes about this man that could never be put into words. He was a good and loyal husband, father, and a hilarious and loving grandfather and great grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents as well as 7 siblings.
Left to cherish his memory and pass down years of laughter are: his wife Ada Fisher, Daughter Patrisha Carrowaino, Son- in-law Jeff
Carrowaino, grand sons Chris and Jeffery Scott Carrowaino, and Scott’s wife Marsha. Also his son Billy Ray Fisher, Jr. granddaughter Amanda Price (husband Mike), Holly Stegall (husband Zachary), and Jessica Riddle (husband CJ). Along with 3 great grandchildren who will miss him dearly. Kyle Gillespie, Neveah Price, and Zachary Riddle.
Memorial service will be held at 2 PM, September 8th, At North Kannapolis Wesleyan Church (314 W 12th St, Kannapolis, NC 28081) with Bro CJ Riddle Officiating and Giving the Message.
