Joel Steven Carter, 76, of Salisbury passed away Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Terra Bella Assisted Living of Salisbury, NC, surrounded by his children and loving extended family.

Born in Stanley County on November 14, 1947, he was the son of the late Henry Walter Carter and Lois Brown Carter. Joel graduated from East Rowan High School, class of 1966, where he was co-captain of the Varsity Football Team. Joel retired from Miller Brewing Company, Eden, NC after 26 years of service. Joel enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, and riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Walter Kelly Carter on January 23, 1984.

Those left to cherish Joel’s memory are his son, Christopher Alan Carter of Lexington; daughters, Karen Carter Loflin (Shane) of Landis; and Courtney Nicole Carter of Holly Springs; and one granddaughter, Delaney Reis Littleton.
