Robert L. Scarboro says
Bill and Carolyn, Just read that Richard passed away. I grew up as a kid with Richard in the neighborhood, went to school, played sports in high school, went to parties and have great memories of Richard. As we grew up our paths went seperate ways after high school but I never forgot him. I, like you and many others, will carry him in my heart until our paths meet again on the other side. God’s peace to you and the family. From an old friend… Robert Scarboro.

Michael Fitzgerald says
My condolences on Richard’s passing. I know I have not seen anyone on this side of the family in a long time, but it doesn’t mean I don’t think about you from time to time. Since I am in Atlanta I don’t get back to Albemarle very often. God bless you all.
Melissa Beam Towler says
Dear Fitzgerald Family: I first met Richard at Miss Skidmore’s Kindergarten when we were 5 years old. Our friendship continued through high school and I wrote letters to him when I was in college and he was in the Air Force. I last saw him in Albemarle when my father passed away in 1989. My heart is heavy with his loss but my memories of him will always make me smile. You are all in my thoughts. With Love and sympathy, Melissa Beam Towler
