Paula Dawn Ferguson Smith, 59, of Concord, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Atrium Health Cabarrus.

Paula was born on May 28, 1966, in Concord, to the late Paul and Julia Barbee Ferguson. A true history fanatic, she loved watching documentaries and black-and-white movies. Paula was a creative and talented individual who found joy in crocheting, quilting, knitting, drawing, coloring, crafting, and canning. She was a people person who cherished time spent with her friends and family.

In addition to her parents, Paula was preceded in death by her brother, Allan Eugene Ferguson.

She is survived by her loving husband, Gerald Thomas Smith Jr.; her daughters, Ashley Nicole Smith and Christine Roxanne Smith, both of Concord; her sister, Amy Ferguson Mayhew and husband Brian of Davidson; mother-in-law, Marie Osborne; her niece, Rebecca Chewning and husband James; great-niece, Ava Grace Ferguson; and great-nephew, James Chewning Jr.
