Wallace E. Morton, Jr. “Ed”, 74, of Salisbury, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2025.

He was born August 1, 1951 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Pastor and Mrs. Wallace Morton. Ed was a graduate of Lanier High School in Macon, Georgia. He was also a graduate of the Georgia Public Safety Training Center and worked as a dedicated Correctional Officer at the Atlanta Transitional Institute, Phillips State Prison and Hancock State Prison. Mr. Morton also worked for the state of North Carolina as a Correctional Officer at the Piedmont Correctional Institution in Salisbury.

Wallace is survived by his brother, Steve Morton of Charlotte, sister, Kathy M. Wilson(Dave) of Pendleton, SC, nephew Kyle Wilson(Ashley) of Anderson, SC, nephew, Ben Wilson(Paige) of Pendergrass, GA and a great niece, Judy Mae Wilson.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
