Phyllis Mary Hartley, age 96, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and service to others.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother, whose life was defined by compassion, strength, and generosity of spirit. She was proceeded in death by two of her children, Jerry and Chris, whom she carried in her heart always.
She has survived by her loving children, Joel and Renee; and her seven grandchildren, Andy, Pam, Alexis, Aspen, Ben, Galen, and Jodie; and her seven great-grandchildren, who brought her immense pride and joy.
An avid lover of the ocean and travel, she found peace near the water and joy in exploring the US. One of our most meaningful parts of her life was her long-standing dedication to alcoholics anonymous, where she gave generously of her time, energy, and support, quietly helping countless others through her service and commitment.
She will be remembered for her strength, her kindness, and the steady presence she was to those who knew and loved her. Her legacy lives on her family and the many lives she has touched.
Carolina Cremation is honored to serve the Hartley family. Online condolences may be made at www.carolinacremation.com.

Hello, My names Eric and for a couple of yrs now, our small Church group ( Grace Baptist Church in Rockwell) We being, Steve, Bob,Tammy Gloria and myself would go visiting at Autumn Care and Compass in Spencer and that’s where we met Phyllis. We’d meet(and still do) in the cafeteria where we sang( or tried too) hymns. Phyllis knew them all.I think it was maybe 2 weeks when Phyllis shared about the topic, “What made Christmas special to you?” Phyllis responded about her family and a little about her youth, but I bet She’d weather the bad times in her day. She was a very special person to us!!! I think it was last week when we heard that she wouldn’t be coming back. Ya know, We all come to the crossroads of our lives and I know that Phyllis wouldn’t come back to this world if she could…She’s basking in Jesus’ Heavenly Light. I know 1 Blessed Day…I’ll see her again!!! ARE YOU SAVED? TIME IS SHORT!! GOD BLESS!!!

Phyllis will be missed greatly at our Thursday morning bible studies at Compass. She was dearly loved and always so upbeat and positive. I know I will see her again. Until then I will keep her in a special place in my heart. God bless you all during this time and always.
Love, Tammy OKeefe from Grace Bible Church.
