Gloria Jane Pontes Goulet passed peacefully in her sleep the morning of January 17, 2026, surrounded by her three sons, Chris, Jon and Nick and her daughter-in-law, Tara.

Gloria was born on September 20, 1949 in Providence, Rhode Island to Arthur and Beatrice Pontes.

She is survived by her brothers, Arthur and Anthony and her sister, Gladys.

Her brother, Allan passed away in 2009.

Gloria graduated from The Women & Infants Hospital School of Nursing in Rhode Island in 1970. She was a registered nurse for forty years, working mostly as a visiting nurse, and occasionally tending to her childrens’ minor sports injuries. After retiring from nursing, she moved to Charlotte, NC to be closer to her sons, Chris and Nick, and her daughter-in-law, Tara. She loved cats, turtles, and swimming, playing board games and cards, and reading.

Gloria will be deeply missed and forever cherished by those who loved her.
