Charles Benjamin (Benny) Culp, 76 passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday, April 15, 2026.
Mr. Culp was born January 31 st 1950, in Salisbury NC to Betty Elium Culp and the late Hardin Evan Culp.
In addition to his father, Benny was proceeded in death by his brother Jerry Evan Culp, his sister Betty Diane Culp Crow, and his grandson Charles Dalton Culp.
Benny was a lifelong resident of Rowan County. He graduated from North Rowan High School in 1969. After achieving the title of Eagle Scout he went on to serve his country in the National Guard. Benny worked in operations at Marshall Steam Station and retired after 30 plus years, he was also a motorcycle enthusiast. He celebrated over 50 years as a Master Mason at Spencer Lodge 543, as well a member of the Spencer Moose Lodge.
Left to cherish his memories are his devoted wife Jill McEwen Culp, his two sons, Gregory Charles (Christine) Culp and Brian Jackson (Amy) Culp. Benny was also blessed with two daughters Jordan Osborne and Morgan (Joseph) Karriker. He loved being called Gramps by his grandchildren Lauren Triplett, Clayton Culp, Brinly Culp, Joseph and Annabella Karriker, plus his two great-grandchildren Aspyn and Rowan. Additional family members to carry loving memories of Benny are his sister Sharon Culp (Linn) Turner and Dr. Ruth Elium, along with many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Mount Hope Church 7004 Old Concord Rd. Salisbury on Sunday April 26, 2026 at 2pm, with visitation from 1pm until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mount Hope Church.
