Grady “Eddie” Edward Austin Jr., 67, of Salisbury, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2026 at his home.

He was born February 19, 1959 in Cabarrus County, NC to the late Grady Austin Sr. and Evelyn Biggerstaff Austin. He graduated from East Rowan High School and worked in construction, including vinyl siding and windows. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, playing the guitar, and riding motorcycles. Eddie was known as a daredevil and was always down for anything. He was a Christian man and loved to share the word with anyone who would listen. Most of all, Eddie loved his family.

In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by his older sisters, Olivia Driver and Shaaron June Solomon; his son, Jeremy Edward Austin; and fiancé, Tracie.

Eddie is survived by his sister, Janice McIntosh of Statesville, NC and her daughter, Stacy Gandy; granddaughter, Raina Austin Antosek (Chandler) of Raleigh, NC; grandson, Landon Cain Austin of Rockwell, NC; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and “stepdaughter” Jamie Myers of Salisbury, NC.

There will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date.
