Bonnie Kay Holshouser Brewer, 83, of Salisbury, peacefully passed away at her home on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on September 29, 1942 to the late Earl and Margaret Holshouser. Bonnie was educated in the Rowan County Schools. She retired from Granite Knitwear, where she was an inspector.

She was preceded in death by her baby brother, Adam, who died at birth; and sister, Ann H. Lentz, whom she missed terribly.

Bonnie is survived by her loving and devoted husband of nearly 67 years, Craven Hines Brewer Jr.; children, Debbie Barber of the home; and Mark Brewer (Suzanne) of Salisbury; her cherished grandchildren include, Justin Barber (Marianna) of Texas; Corie Mulkey (Tyler) of Salisbury; Maggie Snow (Weston) of Rockwell; great-grandchildren, Mila Barber, Stella Doby, Graham Mulkey, Leona Snow, Margo Snow, Heidi Snow, and two on the way. She is also survived by her sweet little dog, Nellie, whom brought such peace and love to Bonnie.

Bonnie lived a quiet life of deep devotion to those she loved and was the heartbeat of her home. She was a meticulous housekeeper. Her kindness and love of God showed in her actions and life. She was a gentle soul who spoke softly but cared deeply. She will be missed.

The family wants to thank the hospice nurses and staff for their care and her loving niece, Amy, who provided hours of special care and attention to Bonnie.

A private family gathering will be held to honor our Bonnie’s life.
