Carl Grayson Dockery, 73, of Winston-Salem, NC, was welcomed into Heaven, on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the NC Veterans Home, Salisbury, NC.

Carl “Gray” was born on June 30, 1953, to the late Carl Gordon Dockery and Myrl Prim Dockery. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Dockery.

Carl attended North Forsyth High School, and proudly served his country for over four years in the United States Air Force. During his military career he was stationed in Texas, Wyoming, Taiwan, and Hawaii, achieving the rank of Sergeant. Most of his working years were spent as a truck driver, allowing him to travel and see much of the country.

We will remember Gray as a loving brother and uncle, with a generous heart.

He is survived by his sister, Sandra Dockery Joyce (Tommy) of Kernersville; his brother, Mark Dockery (Sherry) of Trinity; his nieces, April Beavers and Deanna Lathan; and his nephews, Paul Joyce, Daniel Dockery, and Brent Lewis.

A memorial service with military honors will be conducted by Chaplain Patrick Hunter, on Thursday, October 15, at 2:30 pm, at the VA Salisbury National Cemetery Annex, 501 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, NC.
