Mr. Bill Roscoe Barger, 85 of Rockwell passed away October 22, 2011 at the N.C. State Veterans Home in Salisbury. Mr. Barger was born March 20, 1926 in Rowan County, son of the late Jacob Roscoe Barger and Pearl Fesperman Barger. He was educated in the Rowan County Schools, and the Corning Electrician Tech. College in Chicago, IL.
Bill was a self employed general contractor and was a member of Freedom Christian Worship Center in Rockwell. He loved woodworking, gardening and was a ordained minister, and also was a Veteran of WWII in the US Navy.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife, Mrs. Lucille Jones Barger, and a stepdaughter, Bonnie P. Graham.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Rebecca Shores Barger, one son, Bill D. Barger of Rockwell, one stepson David T. Peacock of Hiram, GA, a daughter, Debi J. Sidelinker of Lincolnton, and a stepdaughter, Amy P. Kirkman of Rockwell.

A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 PM Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the Freedom Christian Worship Center, conducted by the Rev. Dwayne Holt, Pastor and Rev. James R. Shinn. There will be a private burial at the National Cemetery in Salisbury.

The family will receive friends at the Church from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM prior to the Memorial Service.
