Augustus Joe “Gus” Knox, 95, loving husband of the late Patricia H. Knox, entered his eternal home on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at the VA Hospice House, in Salisbury. NC.

A private service be held at a later date.

Mr. Knox was born on July 14, 1930 in Seneca, SC. He is the son of the late William Joe Knox and Dessie Mae Martin Knox. He was raised at Epworth Children’s Home in Columbia, SC and graduated from Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC after spending four years in the Air Force. He was known for his good-nature and quick-wittedness and was a longtime member of Dunn Mountain Baptist Church.

Mr. Knox is survived by two daughters: Windy Knight and Tracy Speaks (Jon) and one son: Randy Knox; and seven grandsons.

Mr. Knox was preceded in death by his wife; son, Larrv Knox; six sisters; and four brothers.
