Betty Carter, 91, of Advance, passed away Friday, February 18, 2022 at her home in Advance, NC.

She was born July 5, 1930 in Forsyth County to the late Raymond and Lillie Mathis Morefield. Betty was a graduate of Clemmons High School. She worked as a Salesperson in the shoe department for Davis Department Store. Betty was a member of West End Baptist Church in Lewisville.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husbands, Woodrow Gray Wooten, Sr. and Charles Carter, and brother, Pete Morefield.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Wanda Wooten Johnson of Denton, NC; sons, Gray Wooten of Clemmons and Jeff Wooten of Winston Salem; grandchildren, Stephanie, Melissa, Robert and Ashley.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 6:00 pm at Brookberry Farms Clubhouse 5567 Brookberry Farm Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27106.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Davidson County Hospice 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
