Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute.
On March 17th, Beverly Joyce Young, 72, of Kings Mountain, North Carolina went to be with her Lord and Savior – Jesus Christ.
Less than a month ago Beverly was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. In the same week Beverly entered into a home bound Hospice program. She was surrounded by loving family, listening to her favorite hymn ‘Amazing Grace, and resting comfortably when taking her last breath. Although the pain felt by her family is unimaginable, personal comfort was realized due to the beautiful grace of transition.
Beverly was a strong woman who believed in being direct and to the point. Her favorite adage while single handedly raising her 3 children “I’m not here to be your friend, but rather your parent. My job is to instill discipline, values, and work ethic… this world doesn’t owe you anything… go out in the world and fight to become someone.” Beverly’s words may have sounded stern, but everyone knew she had a heart of gold and was one of the most loving and loyal friends anyone could ask for.
She beamed with pride when talking about her two Daughters (Deneen Bentley & Tammy Humphrey) and Son (Rick Click) her 4 grandchildren Candace, Kimberly, MeLinda and Scott ll and 10 great grandchildren. Without question, raising 3 successful and caring children was her crown achievement.
Beverly’s second true love was animals. Nothing could put a smile on her face like getting the opportunity to play with a litter of puppies. In the last 10-years of her life, she lived to pamper and love her 2 overweight Chihuahua’s (Abby and Winchester). They truly gave her the joy of Angels.
A private service will be held for immediate family on March 24th.
In lieu of flowers, and should friends desire, contributions may be sent to: ASPCA, P.O. Box 96929, Washington, DC 20090. Our Mother loved animals more than anything else in life. We are confident that this request would support her wishes.
Can’t wait to see you in Heaven, Mama. Get the sweet tea and Uno cards ready.
