Brenda Jean Browne, daughter of the late Howard and Eva Stepney was born on October 23m 1950. She departed this life peacefully on Sunday July 17, 2016.
Brenda received her early education in Baltimore City Public Schools and graduated from Edmondson High School in 1968.
Brenda was joined in holy matrimony on May 25, 1968 to her high school sweetheart, James R. Lane Jr. (deceased). This union was blessed with two sons, James and Curtis Lane. She late married Alexander Browne (deceased).
Early in her life, Brenda embarked upon a career at C & P Telephone company where she quickly excelled to a position as Sr. Operator, and retired 30 years later in 2002. Brenda lived a productive life.
She was a very proud, strong-willed woman, committed to those things that were important to her. She had a great personality and was very popular among her peers. She had the ability to make lasting friends personally as well as professionally. She loved family gatherings at her home, Thanksgiving and Christmas were very special times. Brenda was all about togetherness and tried her very best to keep that closeness with her siblings. She had a good heart.
She was not only known for her good heart but for her fashion sense. She had a personal style all of her own. She had an affinity for the finer things in life, loved to travel, and loved the outdoors. She enjoyed socializing and attending various events, always “The life of the Party” no matter where she was. Always brightening up any room she entered with her smile.
Brenda was a devoted daughter to her mother and father. She loved her parents dearly and never missed an opportunity to call them and provide her assistance when needed. She was a devoted mother to her sons and truly adored her grandchildren. It was God who gave Brenda the gift to handle this assignment, she truly knew the Lord.
Brenda was preceded in death by her sister, Eunice Flynn (Elmer); two brothers Howard Stepney, and Richard Stepney; and one nephew, Tyrone waterson.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory, two sons, James Lane (Angel), Curtis Lane; eleven grandsons, Derek, Verick, Corey, Jordan, Austin, Jalen, Jeses, Luca, Curtis Jr., Alexander, and Jacob; one grand daughter, Alexxis; one great grandson, Zyier; two sisters, Deborah Brown (Edward), and Karen Lewis (Charles); one niece, Jasmine Chewing; three nephews, Lawrence Waterson, Mark Martin, and Elmer Flynn, and a host of cousins and friends.
