Carl Mitchell Riley, 40, of Spencer, North Carolina, passed away on March 7, 2026.

Born on February 14, 1986, in Concord, North Carolina, Carl was known for his vibrant personality and his love for sports, particularly hockey and football, cheering fervently for teams like the Panthers and the Celtics.

Carl was a dedicated many years Floor Tech at Novant, where he was appreciated for both his hard work and his ever-present humor. He was a beloved figure who could always be counted on to lighten the mood with a joke.

He graduated from A.L. Brown High School, where he first began to diverse nature.

Carl was a loving father to his two daughters, Izabella and Elizabeth Riley, who were the center of his world.

He is survived by his mother, June Hoover Rhinehardt; his sisters, Amanda Rhinehardt, Miranda Rhinehardt, and Melissa Riley; and his brother, Jeffrey Riley.

A private event will be held to honor Carl’s memory.

His presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
