Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute.

Born April 28th of 1948, Carolyn Ruth Edwards Miller, 78, made her way to heaven on the 4th day of November 2026 after living her last blissful years with Alzheimers and Dementia.
Carolyn leaves behind two sons formerly of Rocky Mount, NC – Matt and Josh Barker, and a grandson Knox Barker, after her many eventful marriages. First was her young football stud Andy, then a highly regarded doctor Larry, and a brainy college computer professor Ken, but she finally settled down with her true love Mike Miller in Salisbury, NC in 2017.
This 1969 NC State Homecoming Queen had many interest in life – intricate needlework especially, crime mysteries and crossword puzzles, baking and the beach, just to name a few.
In her youth, the daughter of Luby and June Edwards was in the Order of the Eastern Star and later did her own genealogical research to join the Daughters of the American Revolution, as well as the Brown-Fisher Association of the Old Stone House.
Forever a loving mother, Carolyn was also a talented interior decorator, a House Mother for the Kappa Alpha fraternity, and employed in the Alumni Office of Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA before her retirement.
Special gratitude is extended to the loving staff at the Trinity Living Center of Salisbury, NC for helping care for Carolyn during ‘school’.
The following handwritten note was found amongst Carolyn Edwards Miller‘s belongings from a time when her mind was still once sharp and soulful –
“What will happen when this is over? I shall be older, alone, and have memories of a glorious time when I was happy and loved – ever if it cannot be mine forever.
And I shall have had laughter, imagination, and friendships, such as few women ever had, and I shall keep my memories without bitterness.”
May God Above welcome her with his open arms, for she shall be missed down here on earth.
