Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute.

Carolyn Stanley Leonard was born on July 23, 1948, in Asheville, North Carolina, to James and Mary Stanley. She lived a life marked by love for her family, dedication through her work, and, above all, an unwavering love for the Lord.
Carolyn received her education at Boyden High School and Salisbury Business College. Throughout her working years, she was employed with Vocational Rehabilitation and later with Corlin, where she eventually retired. Retirement, however, did not mark the end of her working journey, as she went on to work at Morrison’s.
While Carolyn took pride in her work, her greatest joy was her family and her faith. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved her grandchildren with all her heart. She also dedicated her time and talents to serving the Lord. Carolyn taught children’s church, sang in church, and loved playing the piano. Through her service, music, and devotion, she shared her love of the Lord with others and helped nurture the faith of those around her.
Some of the most treasured memories her family will carry are of her cooking breakfast and making her special red velvet cakes. These simple but meaningful acts were expressions of her love, creating memories that will be cherished for generations to come.
Carolyn leaves to cherish her precious memories her four children: Jerry Wayne Leonard Jr., James Brian Leonard, Angela Leonard Odom and her husband, Arthur, and Kristen Leigh Leonard.
She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Brittany (Kristian), Cody (Meghan), Tanner (Olivia), Abby, Candice, and William (Tiffany). Her legacy of love continues through her great-grandchildren: Aiden, Lincoln, Elizabeth, Evelyn, Sawyer, and Sofia.
Carolyn’s love for her family was immeasurable, but her greatest love was for the Lord. Her faith was central to her life, and her family finds comfort in knowing that she is now at peace in her eternal home. Though her physical presence will be deeply missed, the songs she sang, the music she played, the faith she shared, the memories she created, and the love she gave will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Davita Salisbury, especially Ginger; Dr. Ernest Johnson; the dialysis center at Rowan Medical Center, especially Ann; CenterWell Home Health; and the remarkable staff of the Critical Care Unit at Rowan Medical Center.
Thank you for the care, kindness, compassion, and respect shown to Carolyn and her family. Your dedication and gentle care provided comfort during a difficult time, and your efforts helped ensure that her final moments were peaceful and dignified as she departed this earthly life for her eternal home. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
A Celebration of Life honoring Carolyn Diane Stanley will be held at a later date. Details regarding the service will be announced by the family.
Though our hearts are saddened by her passing, we rejoice in the knowledge that Carolyn is resting in the arms of the Lord she loved so dearly. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her love a gift that will remain with her family forever.
Rest peacefully, Carolyn. Your work here is done, your songs have joined heaven’s choir, your love lives on, and you are finally home.
