Charles Edward “Bill” Stoner, 77, of Salisbury, passed away June 9, 2011, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord.
Mr. Stoner was born Feb. 2, 1934, in Rowan County, son of the late Charles Stoner and Ella Arey Stoner. He was educated in Rowan County schools and retired from N.C. Finishing Co. as a tener framer.
Bill was a Baptist and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Stoner; and a grandson, Barry Chad Stoner.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Nancy Spry Stoner, and his immediate family.
Service: A Memorial Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 17 at the National Cemetery on Statesville Boulevard, behind the VA Medical Center conducted by Rev. Don Vest.
Military Honors will be conducted by the N.C. Honor Guard and the Rowan County Veterans Honor Guard.
