Dale Cauble Boger, 85 of Salisbury died Tuesday, July 31st 2018, surrounded by his loving family.
Dale was born February 11,1933 in Rowan County to the late John Jeremiah Boger and Lyda Cauble Boger.
He was a 1951 graduate of Rockwell High School. He was drafted in 1953 into the United States Army and honorably discharged in 1955.
While “dragging town” with friends he met his sweetheart, Betty Jean Wise. The two were later married on March 16, 1957 and were married 60 years. Dale was a life-long truck driver having worked for White Packing Company, Food Lion LLC, and Hammill’s Construction Company, retiring at the age of 81.
Dale was a member of Providence United Methodist Church. He was a trustee, a member of Adult Men’s Class and The United Methodist Men’s Club. He was a volunteer at Rowan Helping Ministries and a prior Member of Hammers for Christ. Dale received the United Methodist Women’s Service Pen. He was active in all phases of church ministries for as long as his health permitted.
Those who rejoiced upon his arrival in heaven were: his parents; his loving wife, Betty; his best friend, Ralph Shepherd; great-grandchild, Baby Shay; brother, John Boger Jr.; sisters, Sara Sherrill and Mae Weddingto; and his in- laws, Junior and Nett “Mom” Pickler.
Those who cherish his memory: daughters, Bonnie B. Rollins(Russ) and Jill B. Earnhardt(Perry); grandchildren, Scott and Jenna Shay, Ben Rollins, Mark Rollins and Ivy Earnhardt; great-grandson, Silas Shay “Little Boy”; sister-in-law, Ann Wallace; brother, Jim Boger (Beth) and sister, Marie Morgan; nieces & nephews, Lori Campos (Mike Dean) and Will, Mark Wallace (Ashley Overcash), Alice Kluttz (Bob), Jo Fowler(Lanny), Nelda Rinehart (Floyd), Nathan Morgan, Jim Morgan Jr, Carl Boger, Starr Hughes and Woody Weddington (Helen). Also surviving Dale was his beloved cat, Beau.
It is with sincere gratitude that we give thanks to Dad’s caregivers, Mary Lee Ketchie, Joyce Morris, and Susan Eddleman.
Visitation will be Saturday August 4, 2018, at Providence United Methodist Church on Bringle Ferry Road from 12:00 to 1:45. The service will follow at 2:00 with the Rev. Aldana Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
