Damon M. Ford, 57, of Kannapolis, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026 at Copperfield Health & Rehab in Concord.

He was born July 12, 1968 in New York City to the late George Smith and Patricia Ford.  Damon worked in various construction roles in his younger years. He enjoyed helping others and making people laugh. Damon was well known throughout New York and was known by residents and business owners as a jack of all trades and would often complete odd jobs in the city. Damon was no stranger to hard times and difficulties and he would always handle life’s challenges with a smile, a joke, or a motivational quote. He knew how to make lemonade out of lemons. He was humble and appreciative of others generosity. He was a protector and a animal lover. He loved good food, family, music and helping others.

In addition to his parents, Damon was preceded in death by his grandmothers Annie Boykins, and Gloria Wilborne.

Damon is survived by his sister; Keisha Bookhart, one niece, three nephews, two grand-nieces and two grand-nephews.

A private family service will be held.
