David B. “Buddy” Edwards, 78, of Kannapolis, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, NC. Mr. Edwards was born on May 15, 1938, the son of the late Ernest Neil Edwards and Ola Elizabeth Atwell Edwards.

He was educated in the Landis Schools and grew up working and later running Edwards Farm. He also worked for JD Skidmore as a Construction Supervisor. Mr. Edwards was a life-long member of Unity United Methodist Church and was active in Unity’s Mobile Meals.

Mr. Edwards is preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Long Edwards; and sisters, Ruby Ball, Ruth Register and Viola Campbell.

Mr. Edwards is survived by sisters, Edna Register and Bonnie Bost (Floyd); daughters, Sundy Butcher and Leslie Palacio (Michael); grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous friends and extended family.

Visitation: the family will receive friends on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Unity United Methodist Church from 12:00 to 1:00 pm.

Service: There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, October 22^nd at Unity United Methodist Church at 1:00 pm with Rev. Timothy Whittington officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
