Douglas Brown Stuart, 63, of Salisbury, passed away July 27, 2016 at Duke University Hospital.

Doug was born on January 17, 1953 in Charlotte, to Jack Stuart and the late Velma Rushing Stuart. He was an avid poker player and Dale Earnhardt, Sr. fan. In his spare time, he enjoyed cruising in his Corvette, woodworking, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of 42 and half years, Deborah Harrington Stuart; daughters, Kelly Cozart (Scott) of Salisbury; Jodie Boyd (Matt) of Concord; sisters, Linda Stuart of Kannapolis; Jackie McWhorter (Scott) of Davidson; nephew Rustin McWhorter; and his beloved grandchildren, Caroline Cozart; Raegan Boyd; and Rex Boyd.

The family will receive friends August 5, 2016, from 6 pm to 7:30 pm at Cavin Cook Funeral Home (494 East Plaza Dr. Mooresville, NC. A celebration of life will follow, starting at 7:30 pm.
