Dwanaa Smith, 62, of Kannapolis, passed away at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury, NC, after a battle with lung cancer.

She was born May 16, 1962 in Concord, NC. Dwanaa was a loving mother and grandmother and she enjoyed playing with her grandchildren outside. She is gone, but she will never be forgotten.

Dwanaa was preceded in death by her stepfather, Danny McCombs; and sister, Crystal Simmons.

Dwanaa is survived by daughters, Kelli Norris and Lucy Megan Smith; grandchildren, Devin Norris, Brayson Norris, Brayden Norris, Isaiah Bailey and Laila Bailey; mother, Irene McCombs; father, Jay Smith Jr.; step mother, Hilda Smith; sisters, Connie Seamon, Rena Slooop, and Joy Smith; brothers, Jay Smith Jr. and Scott Smith.

There is no service scheduled at this time.
