Eleanor Edna Mullins, 61, of Charlotte, NC passed away on March 10, 2017. She was born on November 23, 1955 in Long Island, NY to the late Henry Woods and Henrietta Woods.
Here’s a story of a woman who gave her life to raise her kids. Eleanor Mullins, born November 23, 1955. She lived to be 61 years of age. Eleanor Mullins taught her kids to DREAM BIG and always keep God first in everything they do.
She absolutely loved bowling starting at an early age of ten; bowling an average of 160. She was a lifeguard and she loved swimming – Mama loved being around any type of water. She learned how to swim because she got caught in a rip tied and almost drowned.
She enjoyed spending time with her kids. Mama Mullins made her own cakes from scratch, she loved to cook, bake cakes, laugh, and clean like it was nobody’s business. She was a second mom to many. Once you met her, the next time you were calling her “Mama” (if you hadn’t already started). She was a stay at home mom, who put her dreams on hold to take care of her children. She sacrificed so much without hesitation. Her smile and her spirit were both contagious. She was a comedic person who loved seeing others laugh. Mama Mullins was an outspoken person, but she had a very giving heart and she was tremendously selfless.
She would have housed the world if she could’ve, and taken everyone off the street. Mama started a book called “No You Didn’t But God Did”. She wrote the book, because she believed that you don’t confirm anything without confirming it with God first.
She survived five heart attacks, two strokes and two triple bypass surgeries. She was deemed “SuperWoman” for overcoming anything that was thrown her way. She had strength and she was a fighter. She never backed down from a fight or an illness without giving it her best.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Allen Woods, and Wayne Woods; and great uncle, John Woods.
She is survived by her children, Charles Mullins, Jonathan Mullins, Cedric Mullins, Charity Mullins, and Cherish Mullins; her sisters, Patricia Brown, and Martha Sabbs; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and great aunts and uncles.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday March 18, 2017 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Mt. Pleasant Church of God (7920 West Franklin St., Mt. Pleasant, NC 28128).
