Floyd Clifton Thomas, 85, of Concord, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016 at his residence surrounded by family. He was born on September 12, 1931 in Winston-Salem, NC to the late Burl and Elizabeth Thomas.
Floyd was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church and worked as a Maintenance Supervisor for Cabarrus Creamery before retiring from there. Floyd loved his church and his church family.
In addition to his parents, Floyd was preceded in death by his wife, Marceline Thomas; a son-in-law, Ed Cox; one brother and two sisters.
Floyd is survived by his only daughter, Lydia Cox and fiance Harry J. McCartney of Kannapolis; two granddaughters, Michelle (Brent) Hilton of Concord, Paula Rankin and fiance Todd Mullis of Concord; a grandson, Jeremy (Cassandra) Cox of Raleigh; three sisters, five great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday December 30, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Oak Grove United Methodist Church (32056 Herrin Grove Rd., Mt. Pleasant, NC 28124) conducted by Rev. Beau Linker and Rev. Aubrey Whitley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lydia Cox to help with final expenses.
