Freddie Thomas Griffin, 68, of Salisbury, passed away on Wednesday January 6, 2016 at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury. Mr. Griffin was born on September 15, 1947 in Salisbury, NC to the late Judson Clemmon Griffin and Nellie Mae Lambert Griffin. Mr. Griffin proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Freddie retired from the Salisbury Housing Authority after 21 years of service and he thought of his fellow employees like family. He enjoyed his weekly poker games with his buddies that became family to him over the years.
He is survived by his daughter, Angela Griffin Crider and husband Larry; two sons, Damon Griffin, and Nathan Griffin and wife Lora Slusser Griffin; grandchildren, Heather Crider Mariano and husband Brock, Mackenzie Crider, Madalinn Griffin, and Chase Crider; two sisters, Jacqueline Mae Benfield, and “Pearl” Geraldine Rebecca Griffin; and a brother, “Butch” Clyde Clemmon Griffin and wife Susan.
A Memorial Luncheon was held in his honor on Friday January 8, 2016 at the Salisbury Housing Authority.
