George Arthur Reasor, 82, of Salisbury and formerly of Atlanta, Ga., born July 15, 1927, passed away July 13, 2010, at the Salisbury Lutheran Home.
George was born in Parsons, Kansas, the son the late Mildred and Claude Reasor. He was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia Jenkins.
George is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Lorna Yeary Reasor of Salisbury; his mother-in-law, Frances Yeary of Steelville, Mo.; a daughter, Claudia Haigh and fiance Nick Callivas of Alpharetta, Ga.; a son, Clayton Reasor and his wife, Jan, of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Lydia Dayton and her husband, Britt, of Davidson; and a son, Todd Reasor of Quincy, Calif.
Also surviving are six grandchildren, Emily and Michael Reasor, Reece and Robert Haigh, Carolin and Rebecca Dayton; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
George served in the U.S. Navy in World War II and was a graduate of the University of Missouri with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He then worked for Hercules, Inc., for almost 40 years.
Visitation and Services: A visitation with the family will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, July 23 at St. John’s Lutheran Church Chapel officiated by Pastor Rhodes Woolly.
An inurnment graveside service will be held following the chapel service at 1 p.m. at the Salisbury National Cemetery Annex, Statesville Boulevard location, behind W.G. Hefner VA Medical Center with full Military Honors. Pastor Rhodes Woolly will officiate.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Music Department, 200 W. Innes St., Salisbury, N.C. 28144; or the charity of your choice.
