Jackie Darrell Sloop Sr., 68, of Salisbury, peacefully passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at Accordius Health at Salisbury.

He was born September 28, 1951 in Salisbury, NC to the late J.D. Sloop and Dorothy Holshouser Sloop. Jackie is a 1969 graduate of East Rowan High School, where he played baseball and football. Jackie worked as a welder and in his spare time he enjoyed fishing, bowling and watching football. Jackie also attended The River Church of God in Salisbury.

Jackie is survived by his wife of 47 years, Donna Rudd Sloop; son, Jackie D. Sloop Jr. of Concord; Daniel Sloop of Salisbury; daughter, Dottie Sloop of Salisbury; sister, Sandra Kendall (Ron Gilstrap) of Greenville, SC; 3 nephews, and a niece.

There will be a memorial service held at a later date.
