James Richard Boykin, 67 of Albemarle, NC passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2013 surrounded by family. Mr. Boykin was born on May 9, 1946 in Antlers, Oklahoma to the late Mr. and Mrs. Jack Boykin and Vanita and Roy Head. James Richard Boykin proudly served his country in the United States Army.

James worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad for 17 years before retiring. Mr. Boykin enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and anything that involved being outdoors. James enjoyed spending time with his family most of all, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Otho Boykin, Carlos Ray Boykin, and Bo Carroll Boykin.

James is survived by two sons, Dwayne Boykin of Baycliff, TX, and James Robin Boykin of League City, TX, two daughters, Tracey Dawn Presley and husband Tony of Albemarle, NC, and Gina Ramsey and husband Vidal Perez of Baytown, TX, a sister, Eula Shastid and husband Rick of Richmond, KY, and grandchildren, Alissia Boykin, Breyana Dehart, Gabriel Dricus, Arianna Dricus, and Ramel Perez.

The family will have a memorial service at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donors’ choice.
