Jane Martha Jenkins, 78, of Salisbury, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at her home surrounded by family. She was born on April 3, 1938 in Trenton, NJ to the late Harold Bashore and Jean Freeman Bashore.

Jane graduated from Villa Victoria Academy and she loved being a full time mom. She was an avid reader, who enjoyed needlepoint and crocheting, as well as going to the beach with her family. Jane loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanie Page; and a son, Michael Cashel.

Jane is survived by her husband of 40 years, Norman Baxter Jenkins of salisbury; three sons, Patrick Cashel, Billy Jenkins (Tammy), and Brian Cashel; a daughter, Noreen Jenkins; a son of the heart, Hal Harrison (Audrey); her sister, Mary Ellen Fransckiewich (John) of New Jersey; grandchildren, Joseph Jenkins (Louanndra), Rebecca Short, Robert Short, Joshua Stirewalt, Caleb Stirewalt, and Jessica Walker (Doug); seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jane’s wishes were to be cremated and no services to be held. A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House (101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103) or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
