Jerry Lee Barnhardt, 63, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Tuesday May 24, 2016 at the Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, NC surrounded by family. Mr. Barnhardt was born on May 25, 1952 in Cabarrus County, NC to the late James Monroe Barnhardt Sr. and Josephine Trull Barnhardt.

Jerry worked as a Supervisor at Autozone as well as a Fixer and Supervisor for Cannon Mills and Spring Mill earlier in his career. He was very good at working on and rebuilding tractors as well as building just about anything he wanted to. He was also good at fixing VW cars for folks. Jerry loved to go camping with his family at Uwharrie and would go hunting and fishing whenever he could. Spending time with his family and friends was what he enjoyed most though.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Barnhardt and Larry Barnhardt.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Virginia Haney Barnhardt of Mt. Pleasant; two sons, Daniel Barnhardt and Michael Barnhardt both of Mt. Pleasant; a daughter, Lisa Cruz; two brothers, Wayne Barnhardt of Honea Path, SC, and William F. Barnhardt of Springfield, IL; and a nephew, Bill Barnhardt Jr. of Arlington, VA.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday May 28, 2016 at the Tucker Hospice House (5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081).
