John J. Stuart, known as “Jack’, 91, of Huntersville, peacefully passed away November 7, 2017 at his home.

Jack proudly served in the US Navy during WWII from 1944 to 1946. After returning home from the Navy, he took ownership of the family dairy farm in Long Creek. He continued self-employment with his companies, Lefler Stuart & JDA & Associates. He was an active member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Huntersville, for 86 years.

Jack is survived by daughters, Linda Stuart, Jackie McWhorter (Scott) and Jaime Stuart; daughter in law, Debbie Stuart; 3 grandchildren, Kelly Cozart, Jodie Boyd and Rustin McWhorter; great-grandchildren, Caroline Cozart, Raegan Boyd, and Rex Boyd; and brother, Clifford Stuart Jr.

He was preceded in death by son, Doug Stuart; brother, Bob Stuart; and sister, Kathleen Walker.

There will be a memorial service held at 2pm on November 19, 2017 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 8600 Mt. Holly – Huntersville Rd., Huntersville, NC 28078.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
