Jonathan “Jay” Aldridge, 41, of Linwood, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021 at his home.

He was born May 4, 1979 in Gastonia, NC to Lawrence “Tim” Aldridge and Donna Grubb. He attended school at Hunter Huss in Gastonia, NC. He loved watching movies, fishing, hiking, haunted houses, and anything Halloween.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Johnnie Mae Blackstock; and Lawrence C. and Mary Aldridge; cousin, Charles “Chuck” Brown; uncle, James Blackstock; uncle, Ronnie Aldridge.

Jay is survived by his son, Devin Aldridge; father, Lawrence “Tim” Aldridge (Linda); mother, Donna Grubb (David); sisters, Crystal Buchanan (Daniel) and Amanda Sanford (Paul); 7 nieces and nephews; 4 great-nieces and nephews; numerous aunts, uncles, and many cousins.

There is no service scheduled at this time.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Brian Blackstock (cousin) and Tammy Archer (aunt) for everything they did for Jay. You will always have a special place in our hearts. Also a special thanks to the staff of Novant Health Cancer Institute of Rowan for all their care.
