Judy Ragan Hatten 58, of Boone, N.C. passed away peacefully on April 27, 2012 at the Watauga Medical Center following a battle with cancer. Mrs. Hatten was born January 01, 1954 to Vivian Eller and Marion Ragan both of the High Country. As well as being a full-time homemaker, devoted mother and friend; Judy also worked as a housekeeper in a number of local hotels. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family. She was a faithful Christian, able to see the goodness in everything and everybody; always filled with laughter and a smile. Loved by many, she will be sadly missed but never forgotten.

Survivors include one daughter, Tabitha Hatten of Boone; two sons, Pete Hatten of Statesville and Michael Hatten of Boone; one granddaughter, Sierra Silcox of Statesville; one grandson, Kade Hatten of Statesville, and one brother, Jim Eller and wife Cindy of Zionville. She is also survived by one half-brother, one half-sister, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death in addition to her mother and father by her husband, Tommy Carlton Hatten.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 4, 2012 at Mount Vernon Baptist Church. Officiating will be Reverend Bud Russell. The family will receive friends starting at 10:00AM, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Judy Hatten Memorial Fund, in care of Tabitha Hatten, at Wells Fargo Bank of Boone, NC.

Both Carolina Cremation of Salisbury, NC and Hampton Funeral Service of Boone, NC are assisting the Hatten family.
