Kinza Jane Johnson, 71, of Salisbury passed away on April 22, 2016 at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Stanly County a daughter of the late Floyd Ellison Morgan and the late Mattie Pearl Helms Morgan where she lived until her family moved to Salisbury. She lived and worked in Salisbury until retiring from GE Electrical Manufacturing and moved to Southport. She enjoyed gardening and watching things grow, loved to cook, make jewelry and hanging out with her family, friends and especially her grandchildren and going antiquing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands; Murphy Lewis Hines and Thomas Johnson. She was also preceded in death by seven brothers; Vance Morgan, Carl Morgan Melvin Morgan, Mack Morgan, Harold Morgan, Heath Morgan, and Junior Morgan. and two sisters; Kinza Carolyn Morgan and Frances Morgan.
Survivors include her two sons; David Hines (Sherry) of Rockwell and Mark Hines of Salisbury and Step-son Victor Johnson of Salisbury. Daughter; Mary Ann Dennis (Kevin) of Gold Hill. Two brothers; Tommy Morgan (Brenda) of Stanfield and Gilbert Morgan of Midland. Sister; Patricia Furr of Oakboro. Three grandchildren and 4 Great-grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
The family requests that memorials be made to Cabarrus County Hospice and Palliative Care, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081 or St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105.
