Lella Baity Farmer, 89, of Mooresville, passed away on Sunday January 15, 2012 at Crown Colony of Mooresville. Lella was born on August 1, 1922 in Wilkes County, a daughter of the late Authur and Nancy Moore Baity. She was educated in the Wilkes County School System and had worked at the Fort Dobbs Historical Site as a Tour Guide. Lella was a lifelong member of the Western Avenue Baptist Church in Statesville, she was also a member of the Choir and served on various committees at her church.
In addition to her parents, Lella is preceded in death by her son, W.C. Farmer; grandson, William Todd Hager; and 12 brothers and sisters.
Survivors: Lella is survived by her daughter, Patricia F. Davis of Mooresville; a grandson, Jay Durant Hager and wife Sunny of Mooresville, and great grandchildren, Jeremiah and Tianai Hager. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
There will a a Memorial Service to celebrate Lella’s life on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Western Avenue Baptist Church in Statesville, conducted by the Rev. Ed Yarbourgh. The family will recieve friends on Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the church prior to the service.
