Lonnie Lee Spears, 73, of Stony Point passed away Saturday, August 24, 2013, at the Gordon Hospice House. Mr. Spears was born on August 11, 1940 in Iredell County a son of the late Linney Lee Spears and Jane Wilcox Spears.

Lonnie was educated in the4 Iredell County Schools and worked for Craftmaster Furniture Company until retiring. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed being with family.

Survivors include his wife Virginia Kendrick Spears of 51 years; sons, Dale Spears and wife, Elizabeth of Stony Point and Danny Spears and wife, Amber of West Virginia; sister, Wilma Benfield of Statesville, NC; 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
