Lucy Long Edwards 88 of Kannapolis passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at CMC Main in Charlotte. She was born in Danielsville, GA on September 9, 1925 a daughter of the late L. B. Long and Dollie Scarborough Long.

She was educated in the Landis Schools and retired from General Time. Mrs. Edwards was a member of Unity United Methodist Church of Kannapolis where she was active in all phases of church work and Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed camping, cooking and taking friends to the mountains. She is survived by her husband, David B. “Buddy” Edwards, several step-children, great step grandchildren and great great step grandchildren, numerous friends, and many relatives in Georgia and North Carolina.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 Am Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Unity United Methodist Church of Kannapolis, conducted by Pastor Timothy L. Whittington. Enurnment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the home.
